Good Morning and thanks for stopping by! I haven’t blogged in over six years. It has been an unusual time in my life, one of tragedy that has turned to a Phoenix rising from the ashes. Over the last year and a half I have been on a journey to reinvent myself and my crafting. I’m still “Small Town Knit Guy,” but needed a new branding for my business, as I am doing it alone now.
Why, do you ask?
- I used to craft with my wife, and we are now divorced (fairly amicably, if that is possible).
- I needed a new focus, vision, and name as a solo fiber artist.
In the past few years, I have taken several classes to improve my fiber arts portfolio. Among those are: All the Singles Ladies with Jillian Michaels where I learned to spin great single ply yarn. Hairpin Lace Techniques with Rita de Maintenon, she was a great teacher. I have also taken spinning and knitting courses with Frost Yarns, Keith Leonard, and will be taking weaving course in October at the John C. Campbell Folk School with Pam Howard and Karen Clancy.
My hope for the future of this blog is:
- To share with you what I am working on at the moment.
- To post photos of things I learn through my search for more knowledge about fiber arts.
- Events at which I will be teaching or selling my handmade goods.
- Communication and network expansion of my fiber arts network.
So as a preview I will be this week photographing items I will be selling at OBX Pride next weekend and sharing them with you. I also hope to share a little about a recent Fiber Arts Retreat that I attended in the Asheville area. I learned so much from that weekend, that I hope to attend again. I will also share about the Southeast Men’s Knitting Retreat that I coordinate each year. It is coming up in November.
Hope this peaks your interest and I hope to see you her often!
